IPPA is a Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP). It is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the advancement of the purchasing profession through education and cooperative relationships among its members. Our membership includes purchasing professionals from federal, state, city, county, school districts, and other political subdivisions.

The Idaho Public Purchasing Association has adopted the NIGP Values and Guiding Principles of Public Procurement.

Chapter News

We just wrapped up our 2-day NIGP training on Contracting for Construction Services with Darin Matthews!  We had 11 students attend the class from all over the state from Boise to Idaho Falls.  Darin is the Director of Contracting and Procurement Services at Portland State University as well as an adjunct faculty member.  He was a great teacher and brought a lot of real-life experience with him along with great information from NIGP.  We look forward to his return to Boise!


Our highly anticipated annual Reverse Vendor Trade Show is finally just 4 months away!  We have posted the registration links on the Events tab with all of the details.  This is a great opportunity for both government organizations and vendors in our community to make connections all in one convenient place.  Government organizations will have booths set up and the vendors can roam freely, meeting with key representatives. They also will have the chance to market their products and services that they have to offer.  This year we are offering sponsorship opportunities on our website for the first time for Diamond and Platinum sponsors!  Lunch is also provided with registration if desired.
